Role Description The International Tax Specialist is a full-time remote role responsible for supporting Taxcart’s global tax engine with accurate, up-to-date indirect tax rules and guidance. In this role, the specialist analyzes international tax regulations, maintains tax rate and rule databases, and performs ongoing tax research across multiple jurisdictions. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing new legislation and regulatory updates, contributing to tax logic design, supporting tax configuration for clients, and assisting internal teams with tax-related questions. The specialist collaborates with product, engineering, and customer success teams to ensure the platform consistently applies correct taxes and aligns with global compliance standards.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Tax Compliance and Tax Preparation, particularly in the context of indirect taxes (sales tax, VAT, GST).
Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Tax Law and practical experience interpreting and applying regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
Candidates should possess advanced abilities in Tax Research and a foundational understanding of general Tax principles in international settings.
Relevant experience in international indirect taxation, preferably within SaaS, fintech, or e-commerce environments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team, using digital collaboration tools and managing time independently.
Bachelor’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, Law, Finance, or a related field; professional tax or accounting certifications are an advantage.
