Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Business Intelligence Specialist. The person in this role will design, develop, and maintain data models and dashboards that provide actionable insights into product performance, customer behavior, and tax compliance trends. Daily responsibilities include collecting and analyzing data from multiple sources, building and optimizing ETL processes, and working closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to define metrics and KPIs. The Business Intelligence Specialist will translate business questions into analytical frameworks, prepare clear visualizations and reports, and recommend improvements based on data-driven findings. The role also involves ensuring data quality, documenting analytics processes, and supporting strategic planning with reliable business intelligence.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate findings into clear recommendations.
Experience with data analytics and data modeling to support reporting, dashboards, and decision-making.
Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and practical experience building or maintaining data warehouse solutions.
Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, including designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting data pipelines.
Proficiency with BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar) and SQL.
Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) is preferred.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems) or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in fintech, SaaS, or tax/financial technology is an advantage.
Comfort working in a remote, distributed environment and managing time and priorities independently.
