Registered Nurse- Michigan Spine and Brain Surgeons

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no weekends or holidays.
Michigan Spine and Brain Surgeons is a high-volume neurosurgery and spine specialty practice with multiple clinic locations throughout Southeast Michigan. The practice supports multiple clinic locations, with the majority of patient activity based in Southfield and Novi. The team currently consists of seven providers, with continued growth anticipated. The practice is focused on delivering specialized spine and neurosurgical care and performs a significant volume of minimally invasive spine procedures.
The Ambulatory RN role is a newly established position designed to enhance patient care coordination, clinical support, and surgical navigation throughout the patient journey. This clinic-based role differs from traditional bedside nursing and is ideal for nurses who enjoy patient education, care coordination, and working closely with surgeons in an outpatient setting.
A primary responsibility of the RN is supporting patients participating in the spine program, including preoperative and postoperative care management. Duties include patient education, surgical preparation, monitoring laboratory requirements, assisting with postoperative medication management, and providing ongoing support through MyChart messages, prescription inquiries, wound concerns, and surgery-related questions. The RN will also ensure that patient concerns are addressed appropriately and escalated to providers when necessary.
In addition, the RN plays a key role in the surgical authorization process by preparing detailed clinical summaries that support the medical necessity of surgical procedures. This work is critical to ensuring timely approvals and continuity of patient care.

Role Overview
As an RN-Ambulatory, you will provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. You'll utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients and their families. This role supports the health care team and ensures clinical competence, working independently and collaboratively as needed.

What You Will Need
Required Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS or ACLS certification per Henry Ford Health policy.
Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Experience in the specialty area.
1+ year of RN experience with a preference for neurosurgery, surgical specialty, or Neuro ICU experience; ambulatory experience not required.
