Role Description The Human Resources Volunteer role is a full-time remote position focused on supporting HR functions that enable AASHRAYA’s volunteer and team community to thrive. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting with volunteer and staff onboarding, maintaining HR records, and supporting the implementation of HR policies and guidelines. The role involves helping coordinate personnel management activities such as scheduling, documentation, and basic performance or engagement tracking. The volunteer may also support communication around benefits or support programs offered to volunteers and team members, and contribute to building an inclusive, respectful, and equitable organizational culture. Collaboration with other volunteers and coordinators is expected, using online tools to manage workflows and maintain clear, timely communication.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management to support day-to-day HR operations.
Ability to understand and assist in implementing HR Policies and basic Employee Benefits processes.
Skills in Personnel Management, including maintaining records, coordinating schedules, and supporting volunteer and staff engagement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with diverse communities.
Organizational and time-management skills to handle full-time remote responsibilities effectively.
Comfort using digital collaboration tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, video conferencing platforms).
Demonstrated commitment to social impact, inclusion, and compassion toward all identities and communities.
Prior HR, nonprofit, or volunteer experience is beneficial but not mandatory; relevant coursework or training in HR or people management is an advantage.
