Role Description The Social Media Manager Intern role is a remote internship focused on supporting AASHRAYA Foundation’s online presence and engagement across social media platforms. In this role, the intern will help plan and execute social media content calendars, create posts, captions, and stories that reflect the foundation’s mission, and optimize content for audience reach and engagement. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring social media channels, responding to comments and messages in a respectful and timely manner, and tracking basic performance metrics to inform future content strategy. The intern will collaborate with team members to highlight ongoing initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and impact stories, ensuring consistent, inclusive, and mission-aligned communication.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO) to manage and grow engagement across platforms.
Candidates should possess strong Communication and Writing skills to create clear, inclusive, and compelling messages.
Candidates should possess abilities in Content Strategy to plan and organize campaigns that reflect the foundation’s values and initiatives.
Basic understanding of analytics tools (platform insights, reach, engagement) and ability to interpret data for content improvements.
Demonstrated interest in social impact, nonprofit work, or community engagement, with sensitivity toward diverse communities.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and collaborate with a distributed team.
Familiarity with major social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, YouTube or similar) and current digital trends is beneficial.
Relevant coursework or prior experience in marketing, communications, media, or related fields is an advantage but not mandatory.
