Senior Interior Design Project Manager
We are a recruitment agency looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage projects from client onboarding and design through procurement, production, shipping, installation and handover.
You will be the client’s main point of contact, coordinating our designers, manufacturers, contractors, quality-control partners and logistics providers to deliver projects on time, within approved budgets and to the agreed standard.
Key responsibilities
Client management: Lead onboarding, manage expectations, provide weekly updates and secure timely decisions and approvals.
Project planning: Own project schedules, budgets, milestones and task assignments across design, sourcing and execution. Identify risks early and resolve delays proactively.
Design coordination: Manage deliverables and approvals for concepts, floor plans, 3D renders, technical drawings and material selections. Ensure partners work from the latest approved information.
Contractor coordination: Source, assess and onboard contractors and builders. Compare quotations, clarify scope, coordinate progress and resolve execution queries with the design team.
Sourcing and procurement: Coordinate supplier comparisons, samples, specifications, purchase orders, payment milestones and production schedules. Track every item through delivery and installation.
Quality control: Coordinate inspections in China before shipment and in the US upon receipt and installation. Document defects, arrange corrective action and verify resolution.
Logistics: Manage freight forwarders, consolidation warehouses, customs brokers, storage providers, movers and delivery teams. Align shipments with site readiness.
Installation and handover: Coordinate installation partners, track outstanding work and defects, organise final walkthroughs and manage aftercare.
Cost and change control: Track expenditure, maintain accurate records and obtain approval for changes affecting scope, cost or timelines.
Partner management: Build a reliable network of suppliers and service providers, monitor performance and hold partners accountable for their commitments.
What we’re looking for
Proven experience managing interior design, renovation, fit-out or furnishing projects through completion.
Experience coordinating contractors, manufacturers and multiple external vendors.
Strong understanding of technical drawings, materials, custom furniture, cabinetry and installation requirements.
Hands-on experience with procurement, production tracking, quality control and international logistics.
Excellent spoken and written English, with confidence managing clients and difficult conversations.
Strong organisation, commercial judgement and attention to detail.
Proactive ownership: you anticipate problems, propose solutions and follow through without constant supervision.
Confidence using project management tools, spreadsheets and budget trackers.
Ability to coordinate across international timezones.
Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
Experience with luxury residential projects, international sourcing and project delivery is highly valued.
