We are looking for a dynamic professional for the role of Assistant Manager - Business Development & EXIM to support business growth, defence procurement activities, and international trade compliance. The ideal candidate should have experience in DGFT licensing, export-import compliance, restricted goods licensing, defence procurement processes, RFP/RFQ management, and coordination with government authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in Defence & Aerospace markets
Support bid management activities for domestic and international opportunities
Review and respond to RFPs, RFQs, EOIs, and tender documents
Coordinate with internal stakeholders for proposal preparation and commercial submissions
Maintain relationships with customers, defence agencies, PSUs, and industry partners
EXIM & Licensing
Manage DGFT and DDP related licenses and authorizations for defence and aerospace products
Handle import/export compliance for restricted and controlled goods, including weapon parts, ammunition, explosives, and dual-use items
Coordinate with DGFT, Customs, MoD, and other regulatory authorities for approvals and clearances
Ensure compliance with Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), SCOMET regulations, and export control requirements
Monitor validity and utilization of licenses and maintain regulatory documentation
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and maintain export/import documentation
Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements for cross-border trade
Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews related to EXIM operations
Track licensing timelines and ensure timely renewals and approvals
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, International Trade, or related field
5-8 years of experience in Business Development and EXIM functions
Hands-on experience with DGFT Licensing, SCOMET, Restricted Goods Licensing, Customs Compliance, RFP/RFQ Management, and Defence Procurement processes
Exposure to Defence, Aerospace, Homeland Security, Manufacturing, or Government sectors preferred
Strong understanding of import-export regulations and licensing procedures
Good communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
Preferred Experience
Defence & Aerospace industry background
Experience handling international OEMs and strategic partners
Working knowledge of offset programs, government procurement, and export control regulations
