Role Description The Applied Data Science Engineer role is a full-time remote position responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include developing and optimizing data pipelines, implementing robust ETL processes, and modeling data for scalable analytics and warehousing. The role involves collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable data structures and workflows. The engineer will monitor data quality, resolve pipeline issues, and contribute to standards for data governance, documentation, and best practices. This position also supports continuous improvement by evaluating new tools, automating workflows, and enhancing performance across the data platform.
Qualifications
Strong data engineering skills, including experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions.
Proficiency in data modeling and data warehousing to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence use cases.
Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools, focusing on reliability, performance, and data quality.
Applied data analytics skills, including querying, transforming, and interpreting data to support decision-making and data science workflows.
Experience with modern data engineering tech stacks (e.g., SQL, Python, distributed data processing frameworks, cloud data platforms).
Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-functional environment, with clear communication and collaborative problem-solving.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance practices; experience in consulting or client-facing roles is a plus.
