Senior Production Engineer

lines from day one, lead the operators, technicians, and contract workforce who build them, and own the shift-level output, quality, cost, delivery, and safety numbers the plant is measured on — the track record that fast-tracks Wakefit's next generation of production and plant leaders.
What You'll Own:
• Production & productivity — execute daily production plans and deliver shift-wise targets; monitor manpower, machine utilization, and line balancing to improve OEE; and minimize downtime by coordinating with Maintenance, Quality, and Process Engineering.
• Quality — ensure every product meets approved quality standards, reduce defects and rework through root cause analysis and corrective action, and feed quality and customer feedback back into continuous improvement.
• Cost optimization — drive waste elimination and material optimization on the floor, and support cost reduction projects aligned with AOP targets.
• Delivery — execute production schedules to achieve OTIF targets, coordinating with Planning, Stores, and Dispatch to keep material and output flowing smoothly.
• Safety — ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements, conduct safety audits, and close out corrective actions.
• People management — lead operators, technicians, and contract workforce, and train teams on SOPs, TPM, quality, and safety practices.
• Continuous improvement — drive Lean, TPM, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives, track KPIs, and support automation and process improvement projects.
What We're Looking For:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline.
• 5–8 years of manufacturing experience, with hands-on ownership of production lines and shop-floor manpower.
• Working knowledge of OEE, RCA, CAPA, 5S, and Kaizen — applied on a live shift, not just on paper.
• This is a floor-first leadership role — you're as comfortable running a shift huddle on the line as you are reviewing the numbers behind it.
• Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Six Sigma certification is preferred.
• Experience in furniture, consumer durables, automotive, or FMCG manufacturing is welcome; exposure to sofa/upholstery assembly or metal fabrication is a plus.
