Role Description The Cyber Security Intern role at SSMT Solutions is a full-time, remote position. In this role, the intern will assist in monitoring systems and networks for security incidents, analyzing logs, and supporting incident response activities under the guidance of senior team members. The intern will help conduct vulnerability assessments, contribute to application and network security reviews, and document findings and remediation steps. Typical responsibilities include researching emerging threats, participating in the development and updating of security policies and procedures, and preparing reports and documentation for internal stakeholders. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support secure development practices and improve overall information security posture.
Qualifications
Strong interest and foundational knowledge in Cybersecurity and Information Security.
Basic understanding of Network Security, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection concepts.
Awareness of Application Security principles, secure coding practices, and common vulnerabilities.
Knowledge of cyber threat landscapes and basic Cyber incident response concepts.
Pursuing or recently completed a degree or certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking fundamentals, and security tools is an advantage.
Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to learn new concepts and technologies quickly.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
