Senior AWS Engineer

You will own backend and cloud engineering on an AI enabled patch management platform for a US university health system, working directly with the client's IT team. This is a hands on build role: you design, build, secure and ship on AWS, and you are comfortable being the senior technical voice on client calls.
What you will do
• Design and build serverless and container based services on AWS (Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS)
• Build data pipelines and integrations with patch, vulnerability and endpoint management tools and enterprise IT systems
• Integrate LLM and agent components (Bedrock or third party APIs) into production workflows with proper guardrails, logging and cost control
• Own infrastructure as code (Terraform or CDK), CI/CD, monitoring and cost hygiene for the environment
• Apply security and compliance controls suited to a healthcare environment: IAM least privilege, encryption, audit logging, HIPAA aware design
• Mentor junior engineers, review code and represent ApexNeural technically in client discussions
Must have
• 5+ years of software engineering with at least 3 years deep in AWS
• Strong in Python (Node.js acceptable) and REST/event driven architecture
• Hands on with IaC, Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Solid grounding in networking, IAM and cloud security fundamentals
• Clear written and spoken communication; able to run a client call independently
Good to have
• AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certification
• Exposure to patch management, vulnerability management or ITSM tooling (Intune, SCCM, Tanium, Qualys, ServiceNow or similar)
• Experience with LLM applications, RAG or agent frameworks
• Prior work with US healthcare or other regulated clients
