Backend Engineer (Python Django)

Responsibilities:
Build, enhance, and maintain backend services and APIs that support gameplay features, progression, rewards, leaderboards, and live events.
Develop reliable server-side logic in a large Python/Django codebase.
Work with Redis, DynamoDB, and async job systems to support scalable and performant game services.
Help power live operations through tools, scheduled jobs, and data-driven systems.
Partner with product, design, QA, analytics, and other engineers to deliver high-quality player experiences.
Write tests, troubleshoot issues, participate in code reviews, and contribute to code quality and maintainability.
Requirements:
2+ years of professional software development experience, ideally in backend systems, gaming, or consumer products.
Proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming.
Experience building or supporting backend services and REST APIs.
Familiarity with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or similar backend technologies.
Working knowledge of databases, caching, or NoSQL systems such as Redis, DynamoDB, or similar technologies.
Exposure to async processing, scheduled jobs, or queue-based workflows is a plus.
Familiarity with Docker, AWS, or cloud-based development environments is a plus.
Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
Experience writing automated tests and contributing to code reviews.
