Frontend Architect

Role Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced and hands-on Frontend Architect to lead the architecture and technical direction of large-scale web applications. The person will define frontend standards, evaluate modern frameworks and architectural approaches, and work closely with engineering teams to implement scalable solutions.
This role requires someone who can operate at both architecture and coding levels—creating POCs, validating technical approaches, reviewing code, mentoring senior engineers, and communicating architectural decisions to technical and executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Define and implement frontend architecture strategies for large-scale web applications.
Drive architectural decisions across React and Angular ecosystems.
Design and evaluate Micro-Frontend, Server-Driven UI, SSR/SSG, and modern state-management approaches.
Develop hands-on Proofs of Concept (POCs) to validate architecture, performance, scalability, and developer experience.
Establish frontend coding standards, design patterns, testing practices, and engineering guidelines.
Define and monitor Web Performance and Core Web Vitals standards.
Optimize application performance, bundle sizes, rendering, hydration, and browser performance.
Guide engineering teams through architecture reviews, RFCs, technical discussions, and code reviews.
Work with engineering leadership and executives to explain architectural options, trade-offs, costs, and technical debt.
Establish common approaches for state management, testing, component architecture, and design-system integration.
Mentor Staff Engineers, Tech Leads, and senior frontend developers.
Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams on frontend deployment, CI/CD, CDN, and cloud architecture.
Required Technical Skills
8+ years of hands-on experience in modern JavaScript / TypeScript development.
Strong architecture experience with large-scale, high-traffic web applications.
Expert-level React and Angular experience.
React: Hooks, Next.js, SSR/SSG, state management, component architecture.
Angular: RxJS, Signals, NgRx, enterprise application patterns.
Strong knowledge of Micro-Frontend architecture, including Module Federation.
Experience with Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Static Site Generation (SSG), hydration, and browser rendering.
Strong understanding of frontend state management and application architecture.
Experience with Web Performance optimization and Core Web Vitals.
Strong knowledge of frontend testing, coding standards, and design systems.
Ability to build and demonstrate technical POCs/prototypes.
Good to Have
Experience with Vue, Svelte, or other modern frontend frameworks.
Nx / Turborepo and monorepo architecture experience.
Experience building or integrating cross-framework component libraries/design systems.
AWS/GCP frontend deployment experience.
CDN and edge caching knowledge.
CI/CD automation.
Frontend security knowledge including CORS, CSP, OAuth/OIDC.
Experience working with enterprise-scale development teams.
