About The Role
The Principal HR Data Analyst at Oracle is a strategic and analytical role dedicated to leveraging advanced data science techniques and workforce insights to influence HR strategies and business decisions. This position involves partnering closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), HR leaders, and business stakeholders to address complex talent management, workforce planning, and organizational questions. The ideal candidate will utilize their strong analytical skills, business acumen, and technical expertise to transform large, complex datasets into meaningful insights, forecasts, and scenarios that support critical HR initiatives and organizational growth.
This role requires a proactive approach to identifying emerging workforce trends, developing predictive models, and applying innovative analytical techniques such as AI and machine learning. The Principal HR Data Analyst will also ensure the responsible handling of sensitive employee data, adhering to data governance and privacy standards. The position offers a unique opportunity to influence strategic HR and business decisions through data-driven insights, contributing to Oracle’s continued leadership in the industry.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess an advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Data Management, Economics, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related quantitative field. A minimum of 8 years of experience in people analytics, workforce planning, or related analytical disciplines is required. Demonstrated expertise in statistical modeling, forecasting, predictive analytics, and scenario analysis is essential. Experience with applying AI, machine learning, or generative AI to business workflows is highly desirable.
Proficiency in analyzing compensation, workforce costs, hiring, attrition, and other financial workforce measures is necessary. Candidates should have hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM, OTBI, BI Publisher, and Oracle Analytics Cloud. Strong technical skills in SQL, Python, R, advanced Excel, and statistical techniques are required. The ability to communicate complex analyses clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences is critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Partner with HR and business leadership to define and resolve complex workforce questions, designing and interpreting analyses related to compensation, hiring, employee movement, attrition, and workforce costs to support strategic decision-making.
Create scenario models, forecasts, and advanced analyses to evaluate the financial and operational impacts of talent decisions, including hiring, internal mobility, and compensation adjustments.
Collect, integrate, and analyze HR data from multiple sources, transforming large datasets into scalable models, actionable insights, and compelling visualizations that inform leadership strategies.
Serve as a subject matter expert on people data, analytical methodologies, and tools, providing guidance to stakeholders on appropriate metrics and analytical approaches.
Apply advanced technical skills, including SQL, Python, R, and Oracle analytics tools, to identify trends, evaluate drivers, automate processes, and develop predictive insights.
Explore and implement emerging analytical techniques such as AI and machine learning to enhance the speed, scalability, and accuracy of HR analytics, while maintaining data governance and ethical standards.
Ensure responsible management of sensitive employee data, complying with all relevant data privacy, security, and governance policies.
Manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating ownership, analytical rigor, and attention to detail.
Proactively identify workforce trends, risks, and opportunities, consulting with HRBPs and leaders to develop data-driven solutions and strategies.
Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise narratives and visualizations suitable for executive audiences, supporting strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
