About The Role
We are seeking a motivated, career-oriented Application Developer to join our dynamic team in Chantilly, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting existing applications, as well as contributing to new development projects. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex software solutions within a fast-paced environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results. The Application Developer will play a crucial role in translating user needs into functional software applications, ensuring that solutions are efficient, secure, and scalable. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for this role include a High School Diploma or GED with over 7 years of experience in the Information Technology field. Candidates should demonstrate strong Java programming skills with hands-on experience in developing and maintaining Java-based applications. Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and experience with modern frameworks like Angular are essential. Familiarity with the Spring Framework, RESTful services, SQL, and ORM libraries such as Hibernate/JPA is required. Additionally, experience with Git version control for source code management is necessary. Preferred qualifications include the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of Elasticsearch and secure web application development best practices. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, modify, and maintain software systems, applications, and tools, ensuring they meet technical specifications and user requirements.
Analyze user needs and software requirements, assessing the feasibility of design within established timeframes and budget constraints.
Collaborate with team members, service providers, vendors, and end-users to develop new features and improve existing functionalities.
Develop and execute unit tests and integration tests, participating in functional and regression testing to verify software performance and correctness.
Identify and resolve software errors by making necessary changes, rechecking the code, and ensuring the desired outcomes are achieved.
Review help desk messages and work with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly.
Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and incorporating best practices and standards into development workflows.
Deploy code to development, testing, and production environments utilizing existing DevOps tools and infrastructure, ensuring smooth and reliable releases.
