AI / Machine Learning Engineer (Remote, Contract Bench)

Target rate: $50–80/hour · Remote, United States · 1099 contract bench
Precision Federal builds AI and data systems for federal agencies. We need engineers who ship models to production: machine learning, computer vision, and large-scale compute.
What you'll do
Build, train and evaluate ML models on real agency data
Deploy models into production pipelines and monitor them
Work on computer vision, forecasting, NLP or digital-twin projects as bids require
Write clear technical documentation for government reviewers
Required
3+ years building ML models that reached production
Python plus PyTorch, TensorFlow or scikit-learn
Experience with cloud ML (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML or GCP Vertex)
Preferred
Computer vision, LLM or HPC/GPU cluster experience
Federal, defense or research-lab work
Published papers or open-source projects
How our bench works. This is a bench role: there are no guaranteed hours. When a federal bid fits your background, we name you on it at your agreed rate, and you sign a short commitment before we submit. If we win, you do the work at that rate and those hours. Remote, 1099 hourly; full-time seats may be W-2. U.S. citizens and permanent residents only.
