Health Economist (Remote, Part-Time Contract)

Target rate: $100–150/hour · Remote, United States · 1099 contract · about 6 hours a week for 12 months (up to 300 hours)
Our first project: we're forecasting the U.S. market for a human West Nile virus vaccine and a seasonal West Nile monoclonal antibody under a CDC contract. We need a health economist to own the economics.
What you'll do
Build coverage and uptake models for both products: who would get them, and how many
Analyze pricing and reimbursement, and who pays
Build return-on-investment and cost scenarios with sensitivity analysis
Work with our epidemiologist on the demand model
Lead-author one peer-reviewed manuscript and brief CDC scientists on results
Required
Master's or doctorate in health economics, health policy, economics, public health or a related field
Hands-on cost, cost-effectiveness, budget-impact or return-on-investment modeling
Strong analysis in R, SAS, Stata, Python or TreeAge
Preferred
Work for or with CDC, HHS or another federal health agency
Vaccine or biologics economics, market forecasting, or pricing and reimbursement work
Peer-reviewed publications
How our bench works. This is a bench role: there are no guaranteed hours. When a federal bid fits your background, we name you on it at your agreed rate, and you sign a short commitment before we submit. If we win, you do the work at that rate and those hours. Remote, 1099 hourly; full-time seats may be W-2. U.S. citizens and permanent residents only.
