Head of Procurement

Fruit Formulations (FruitFM) makes fruit and non-fruit preparations for dairy, bakery, beverages, HoReCa, institutional and export customers. We are hiring a Head of Strategic Sourcing & Procurement to lead direct-material sourcing for our Jejuri MIDC plant. This is a plant-based, full-time role reporting to the CEO, with travel to farms, processors and suppliers.
What you will own
• Lead sourcing for fruit, food ingredients, packaging and other critical direct materials, including category plans and seasonal contracting.
• Develop reliable second sources with independent QA approval; manage supplier concentration, lead times, traceability, claims and corrective actions.
• Negotiate price, usable yield, freight, payment terms, minimum order quantities and risk allocation. Demonstrate net delivered benefit and supply continuity.
• Work with plant demand planning and Finance to prevent stockouts and excess inventory while making decisions within approved limits.
• Coach the purchasing, stores and logistics team, and brief the CEO on material exceptions and recommended actions.
What we seek
• Deep direct-material procurement experience in food, fruit or agri-processing, or closely comparable perishable manufacturing. Around 10 years or more is a guide; demonstrated ownership matters more than a fixed count.
• Personal ownership of a seasonal or volatile category, major supplier negotiations and alternative-source qualification.
• Practical judgment on QA specifications, food safety, incoming rejection, yield and traceability. Technical release remains with QA.
• Measured commercial outcomes, supplier continuity, working-capital judgment and operating-team leadership.
• Ability to work from Jejuri and travel as sourcing requires.
Experience with fruit purée or concentrate, IQF/frozen materials, aseptic inputs, agricultural procurement, food packaging or export supply is useful.
