Role Description The Area Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Ranchi, responsible for driving sales growth and market development for Aditya Birla Health Insurance products in the assigned region. The role involves managing and motivating a local sales team, setting and tracking sales targets, and ensuring effective implementation of sales strategies and campaigns. The Area Sales Manager builds and maintains strong relationships with distribution partners, agents, and key corporate or retail customers, while identifying new business opportunities and segments. Daily tasks include monitoring performance metrics, conducting field visits, providing training and support to channel partners, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The role also requires preparing regular sales reports, analyzing market trends and competition, and collaborating with internal teams such as marketing, operations, and underwriting to ensure smooth service delivery.
Qualifications
Strong sales and business development skills, including experience in achieving revenue targets and expanding market reach.
Expertise in relationship management and channel management, with the ability to engage and support agents, distributors, and key customers.
Solid knowledge of health insurance or financial services products, with the ability to explain value propositions clearly and ethically.
Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and use of CRM or sales management tools to track performance and inform decisions.
Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
Proven leadership and team management capabilities, including coaching, performance monitoring, and conflict resolution.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification or MBA is an advantage.
Relevant experience in health insurance or BFSI sales, preferably in area or regional managerial roles.
Ability to work on-site in Ranchi, travel within the assigned territory, and adapt to dynamic market conditions.
