About The Role
Vanguard is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our dynamic Technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing advanced-level network services, supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure. You will work closely with development teams, support staff, and management to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our network systems. Your expertise will be vital in troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing network capacity, and implementing innovative solutions to meet the organization’s strategic objectives. Qualifications
Minimum of five years of relevant work experience in network engineering or related fields, with a strong preference for experience in enterprise network environments.
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of training and professional experience.
Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) are highly preferred.
Proven experience with network design, configuration, troubleshooting, and security best practices.
Strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software, as well as experience with network monitoring and automation tools.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and convey complex technical concepts clearly.
Responsibilities
Provide advanced network services, including installing, configuring, and integrating new network technologies to support organizational needs.
Conduct pilot projects, evaluate new solutions, and make recommendations to enhance network performance and security standards.
Design, troubleshoot, and support complex network systems, working closely with development teams to implement reliable and secure external connections.
Manage telecom network services, addressing escalated issues from support and technical teams, and identifying failing components for resolution.
Monitor network system performance, analyze trends, and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and reliability.
Perform capacity planning activities, monitor network metrics, and initiate actions to prevent degradation due to capacity constraints.
Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, diagrams, and procedures to ensure operational continuity and knowledge sharing.
Train and mentor staff, conducting formal training sessions and recommending vendors for ongoing professional development.
Participate in special projects, contribute to strategic planning, and perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals.
Ensure compliance with all relevant Information Technology and Information Security policies, procedures, and standards.
