Role Description
The Vice President of Technology is a full-time, remote role responsible for shaping and executing Alto Sur Capital Partners’ technology vision across the firm and its portfolio companies. This role includes developing and refining IT strategy, evaluating technology platforms and tools, and advising on digital transformation initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities involve partnering with investment and operations teams to assess technology risks and opportunities, conducting technical due diligence, and recommending scalable solutions for portfolio companies. The role also oversees technology roadmaps, coordinates cross-functional projects, and ensures alignment between business objectives and technology investments. The Vice President of Technology will regularly communicate with internal stakeholders and portfolio leadership, provide thought leadership on emerging technologies, and establish best practices for information security, data management, and IT governance.
Qualifications
Strong Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret complex data, evaluate technology investments, and support due diligence processes.
Deep expertise in Information Technology, with experience overseeing enterprise systems, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and infrastructure.
Proven capability in IT Strategy, including developing technology roadmaps, aligning IT initiatives with business goals, and guiding digital transformation.
Demonstrated Project Management experience, with a track record of leading cross-functional initiatives, managing timelines, and delivering results.
Solid Strategic Planning skills, including long-term technology forecasting, budget planning, and portfolio-level technology prioritization.
Experience working in or with venture capital, private equity, or high-growth companies is highly beneficial.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, cloud certifications) are a plus.
Ability to thrive in a remote, distributed environment, demonstrating self-direction, collaboration, and accountability.
