About The Role
The HR Generalist supports the full employee lifecycle for a distributed technology organization, spanning onboarding, benefits, performance programs, employee relations, and people-data administration. The role partners with engineering, product, IT, and business teams to deliver consistent, compliant HR operations as the company scales.
This role combines hands-on employee support with process improvement. The team uses systems such as Rippling or Workday, Greenhouse, Slack, and Google Workspace to manage people workflows, maintain accurate records, and turn workforce data into practical recommendations for managers and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Manage onboarding and offboarding workflows across the HRIS, payroll, benefits, IT access, and equipment-return processes
Administer employee records, job changes, leave tracking, organizational updates, and recurring people-process audits in Rippling, Workday, or a comparable HRIS
Coordinate benefits enrollment and employee questions in partnership with brokers, payroll providers, and internal finance and operations teams
Support performance-review cycles by maintaining timelines, configuring HRIS workflows, preparing manager communications, and tracking completion
Respond to employee and manager questions on policies, workplace practices, leave, accommodations, and benefits while escalating sensitive matters appropriately
Maintain people dashboards and recurring reports covering headcount, turnover, onboarding completion, engagement, and other workforce metrics
Improve HR processes by documenting SOPs, automating routine workflows, and managing people-team projects across remote and hybrid teams
What We Are Looking For
3-6 years of progressive HR generalist or people-operations experience, preferably in a technology or high-growth environment
Working knowledge of employee lifecycle processes, benefits administration, leave management, performance programs, and basic employment compliance
Hands-on experience with an HRIS such as Rippling, Workday, BambooHR, or UKG, plus comfort using Slack, Google Workspace, and spreadsheet-based reporting
Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage confidential information and multiple deadlines independently in a remote environment
Clear, tactful communication skills and sound judgment when handling employee questions, sensitive issues, and manager escalations
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Bonus: Experience supporting distributed teams, administering equity programs, using Greenhouse or Lever, building HRIS automations, or holding SHRM-CP or PHR certification
