Role Description The Data Engineering Manager for Canada Opportunities is a full-time, on-site role based in Canada. This role is responsible for leading data engineering initiatives that support analytics, reporting, and operational decision-making related to immigration and visa consulting services. Day-to-day tasks include managing a data engineering team, defining and implementing data pipelines, integrating data from multiple internal and external systems, and ensuring data quality and reliability. The manager will collaborate closely with consulting, operations, and leadership teams to understand business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and maintain scalable data architectures. Additional responsibilities include overseeing project delivery timelines, mentoring team members, enforcing best practices in software development and data engineering, and continuously improving data processes to enhance client service outcomes.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills, with experience guiding technical teams and fostering collaboration.
Candidates should possess solid Software Development skills, preferably in data engineering-focused languages and frameworks (e.g., Python, SQL, ETL tools).
Candidates should possess Project Management skills, including planning, prioritization, stakeholder communication, and on-time delivery of data initiatives.
Candidates should possess Integration skills, with experience connecting diverse data sources, APIs, and platforms into cohesive data pipelines.
Experience designing and maintaining data architectures, data warehouses, or data lakes in cloud or on-prem environments.
Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL best practices, data governance, and data security.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities, with the capacity to work cross-functionally.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Prior leadership experience in data engineering or related technical domains; experience in consulting or services organizations is an advantage.
