The Assistant Project Manager supports hospitality renovations and new developments from initial brief through completion, coordinating operational requirements, design documentation, furniture, fixtures and equipment, site works, schedules, budgets and brand standards.
Reporting to the Area Development Manager, the role collaborates closely with the Project Manager and multidisciplinary project teams.
Duites and Responsibilities
Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include but not be limited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, you may be given tasks outside the scope of work described.
Coordinate and work with the PM and ADM on renovations and new project developments. Work closely with Architects, Interior Designers, Project Executives, Contractors and Suppliers.
Draft and maintain the Operational Brief for design consultants, detailing all operational requirements of the hotel (Rooms, F&B, SPA, HR, IT, Laundry, Store, Kids Club, Technical, etc.), for validation by the ADM.
Lead multi-disciplinary drawing coordination across architectural, interior design, structural and MEP packages to ensure design intent consistency and buildability.
Attend and minute design coordination meetings, site meetings, furniture inspections and mock-up reviews with all consultants in Mauritius and abroad as and when required.
Monitor consultants’ design deliverables against the program and report any slippage to the PM/ADM.
Review shop drawings and technical submittals and follow up on all manufactured items. Keep regular contact with consultants / vendors on all FF&E matters.
Review materials supplied (mood boards, design, furniture, fabric, accessories) and make recommendations for approval by the ADM and Project Executive team.
Prepare listing and cost estimates of all room OSE items as per the CHRG or C-Resorts standards, as input to the project budget.
Assist in tender processes through technical comparisons and bid evaluations and assist in the preparation of Purchase Orders for the OSE.
Conduct site inspections, quality control reviews and snagging lists, and follow up on defects until closure.
Manage drawing registers and document control and create and maintain an online FF&E and OSE Library for all hotels.
Advise on sustainable design and green building (EDGE) opportunities for new builds and renovations.
Project manage small design-led projects where assigned by the ADM.
Research and keep abreast of relevant industry, design and FF&E trends and update the team accordingly.
Carry out all the above responsibilities and all necessary documentation within set time schedules and meet the project progress schedule.
Do recommendations and assist the project team of Constance La Gaiete on their development as and when required.
Qualifications & Experience & Competencies
Bachelor's degree in project management, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Management, or a related field.
At least 3 years in design coordination, technical delivery or project coordination on hospitality, luxury residential or property development projects or a related environment would be an advantage.
Experience in supporting projects involving multiple stakeholders is desirable.
Knowledge of project management methodologies and principles.
Familiarity with project management software or tools would be an advantage.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
