Job Purpose
To carry inventory valuation of warehouse by preparing stock valuation sheet followed by analysis of P&L accounts. Also, to coordinate in carrying out annual budgeting and working out product costing. To provide any costing data needed for internal and external audits in required formats.
Job Context & Major Challenges
The company was established on 15th Feb 2007 by registering with the ROC (Registrar of Companies) in Delhi. Initially the finance and accounts work was outsourced and was handled by an agency in Delhi. In 2008, with the recruitment of finance and accounts team the work has been handled by the in-house team.
The department is responsible for short term & long term financial and commercial health of all the GPFPL unit of the Textiles Business including Risk Management, Economic Feasibility of Business Strategy and recommending capital expenditure plan.
For the ease of Turkish owners, majority of bank related work such as submission of compliance related documents, coordination with bank officials regarding Bank Guarantee etc. is done from Mumbai bank branches. Thus, it was the Turkish management’s decision to appoint one person in the Mumbai office considering that the services provided by the Mumbai bank branches were more advanced and preferred by the Turkish owners.

KRA1 To carry out inventory valuation, prepare stock valuation sheet and carry out analysis of P&L accounts
Ensuring physical verification of stock inventory
Taking valuation of items stored in warehouse except Work-In-Progress (WIP) and finished goods
Preparing stock valuation sheet which is reported in finance
Carrying out analysis of P&L accounts which includes segment-wise marginal analysis of products
Ensuring data reconciliation between cost records and financials
Preparing reports with regard to financials as per the format of JST and corporate requirements on monthly basis
KRA2 To coordinate in carrying out annual budgeting
Procuring sales plan from marketing department and getting month-wise plan splitting done by production departments
Attending meetings with production HODs to discuss over key data (cost components of every production department- e.g. dyes, chemicals, power, fuel etc.) and provide any kind of consultation
Preparing P&L account based on the synchronized datasheet shared by production departments
KRA3 To workout product costing by reviewing costs of existing products and also setting for new products
Analyzing historical data in existing database and preparing cost calculation sheet against the available data
Developing unit rates for production cost centers for product segments on a monthly basis
Ensuring reconciliation of cost records and financials
KRA4 To provide cost audit data to internal and external auditors
Preparing pro forma regarding reconciliation between cost and financials for audit purpose
Provide all information needed for internal and external audits
