Summary
Job Summary Microsoft Fabric Build & Administration Engineer
Build and support enterprise data solutions using Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory, Power BI, etc.).
Develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and integration pipelines (using Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, notebooks, SQL, Python, or PySpark).
Design and support scalable data architectures (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
Configure and administer Fabric workspaces, capacities, domains, access controls, and deployment processes.
Oversee Fabric tenant and platform administration, including governance, capacity utilization, security, and platform health.
Manage role-based access, Entra ID groups, service principals, managed identities, and least-privilege security.
Govern data ownership, lineage, access, retention, sensitivity, and integrate with Microsoft Purview as needed.
Monitor Fabric capacities, workloads, pipelines, refreshes, and platform performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures, data quality issues, connectivity, and production incidents.
Optimize Fabric solutions for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost.
Build and support integrations between Fabric and various enterprise data sources (Azure SQL, SQL Server, APIs, SaaS, internal platforms).
Support integration with Power Platform, Dataverse, Power BI, and Azure services.
Configure secure connectivity, gateways, credentials, private endpoints, and managed identities.
Support CI/CD and ALM processes via Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.
Manage deployment pipelines and promote solutions across environments (dev/test/QA/prod).
Establish monitoring, alerting, logging, support procedures, and operational documentation.
Maintain architecture diagrams, configuration standards, deployment and troubleshooting documentation.
Collaborate with architects, data engineers, Power Platform, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
Participate in design reviews, release activities, troubleshooting, platform enhancements, and production support.
Required Qualifications
6+ years in data engineering, analytics, or Microsoft data platform roles.
2+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric components (OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, Power BI, etc.).
Administration experience in Fabric workspaces, capacities, security, and platform configuration.
Strong SQL and experience with Python and/or PySpark.
Production support experience (monitoring, troubleshooting, incident resolution).
Experience with Azure data services and Microsoft Entra ID/RBAC/security practices.
Proficiency in Azure DevOps or GitHub for CI/CD and deployment automation.
Understanding of data governance, security, privacy, and access control.
Strong communication skills across technical and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting Microsoft Fabric in large enterprise environments.
Healthcare or regulated industry background.
Experience with Microsoft Purview, data lineage, sensitivity labels, and governance.
Familiarity with Dataverse, Power Platform, Direct Lake, and Power BI optimization.
Experience with Delta Lake, Spark/PySpark, medallion architecture.
Expertise in capacity utilization, workload performance, private endpoints, and network security.
Microsoft certifications (Fabric, Azure Data Engineer, Power BI) preferred.
