The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Financial Analyst, Budget and Finance Department, Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine [R0153594]
ROLE of the POSITION
The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV is looking to fill two (2) Financial Analyst positions. Under the general direction of the Associate Dean for Finance and Facilities within the Budget Office, and in collaboration with assigned departmental leadership, the Financial Analyst provides professional financial, budgetary, operational, and sponsored-project support to academic, clinical, research, and administrative units within the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine.
The position supports multiple departments through a matrix structure and provides analytical, transactional, and reporting assistance that promotes sound fiscal management, compliance, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include budget development and monitoring, forecasting, reconciliation, financial and productivity reporting, grant administration, and coordination of routine financial transactions.
The analyst collects, validates, analyzes, and presents information for leadership decision-making while referring policy interpretation, strategic planning, approvals, and significant fiscal decisions to supervisory leadership. The position collaborates with faculty, administrators, principal investigators, central offices, UNLV Health, and sponsors to meet University, NSHE, and funding requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in an applicable field of training (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration Economics, or a related field) as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 2-4 years of experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.
Two to four years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, grants administration, or business operations in a complex organization.
Experience must include preparing financial reports, reconciliations, forecasts, and budget analyses; supporting multiple funding sources; maintaining auditable financial records; and processing routine financial transactions.
Demonstrated experience using enterprise financial systems, advanced Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools to collect, validate, analyze, and communicate financial or operational information is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in higher education, academic medicine, or healthcare. Experience supporting sponsored projects or grant administration, financial reporting, productivity metrics, and operational analysis using enterprise financial systems, advanced Excel, business intelligence, or dashboard tools.
