Barayamal supports First Nations entrepreneurship in Australia through programs, resources, mentoring and practical support. We’re looking for a volunteer Software Engineer, Python to improve the digital tools that support our programs and operations. This is an unpaid, remote volunteer role for someone currently living in Australia. You may develop Python applications, APIs, scripts and integrations; review code; support testing; fix bugs; document technical decisions; and collaborate with other volunteers on practical improvements. Python development or equivalent project experience is preferred, along with familiarity with APIs, databases, Git and testing. Clear communication and an interest in supporting First Nations entrepreneurship are important. There are no fixed shifts, minimum hours, mandatory attendance requirements, penalties for absence or guaranteed tasks. Contributions are flexible and agreed around your availability. You can pause or step back if circumstances change with reasonable notice.
