Barayamal supports First Nations entrepreneurship in Australia through programs, resources, mentoring and practical support. We’re looking for a volunteer Software Engineer III to help improve the digital tools that support our programs and operations. This is an unpaid, remote volunteer role for someone currently living in Australia. You may design and improve software features, APIs and integrations; review code; support testing; fix bugs; document technical decisions; and share knowledge with other volunteers. Substantial software engineering or equivalent project experience is preferred, along with familiarity with databases, Git, testing and collaborative development. Clear communication and an interest in supporting First Nations entrepreneurship are important. There are no fixed shifts, minimum hours, mandatory attendance requirements, penalties for absence or guaranteed tasks. Contributions are flexible and agreed around your availability. You can pause or step back if circumstances change with reasonable notice.
