Sr. Data Architect – Startups

Role Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Data Architect to own our data warehousing and database infrastructure across all our startups. You’ll design and build the systems that turn raw data into a reliable, scalable foundation for reporting and analytics, while owning day-to-day database administration, performance, and security. This is a high-ownership role with the mandate to build the data backbone that supports every business unit.
Responsibilities
Design and build a scalable data warehouse architecture supporting multiple startups
Design data models optimized for analytics and reporting
Build, orchestrate, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines
Administer, tune, and maintain PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server and MongoDB across environments
Write and optimize advanced SQL queries; design and manage indexing strategies for performance
Build data integrations and automation
Define and enforce data governance, access control, and security standards
Own backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning for all databases
Monitor database health, proactively identify bottlenecks, and resolve performance issues
Partner with engineering, product, and analytics teams to translate data needs into architecture
Document data architecture, schemas, pipelines, and operational runbooks
Monitor and optimize Azure cloud costs, ensuring infrastructure spend stays efficient as data volume and usage scale
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent practical experience is welcome.
