Role Description This is a remote internship role for an Application Developer. The intern will assist in designing, developing, and testing application features that support e-commerce operations for rural markets. Day-to-day tasks include writing and refining code, working with databases, implementing user interface components with CSS, and supporting integration between different systems and APIs. The intern will collaborate with mentors and team members to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and participate in code reviews. The role offers hands-on experience in building real-world applications while contributing to technology-driven social impact.
Qualifications
Ability to apply Software Development practices, including basic application architecture and debugging skills.
Proficiency in Programming concepts (e.g., object-oriented or functional programming) and at least one modern programming language.
Foundational knowledge of Databases, including data modeling, queries, and performance considerations.
Experience using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for styling web interfaces and improving user experience.
Understanding of Integration concepts, such as working with APIs, web services, or connecting multiple systems.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a remote, cross-functional team.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Interest in e-commerce, rural development, and using technology for social impact is highly beneficial.
