About the Role
We are looking for a **Backend & Cloud Technical Support Engineer** to support, troubleshoot, and improve an existing production environment built with **Next.js, Python, TypeScript, React, and Google Cloud Platform**.
Your primary focus will be backend infrastructure, system integrations, production reliability, and application scaling. You should be comfortable investigating issues across APIs, cloud services, databases, deployments, and third-party integrations.
This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong debugging ability, clear communication, and independent ownership. We are open to both mid-level and senior candidates, with responsibilities adjusted according to experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot backend, cloud-infrastructure, integration, and production issues
- Build, maintain, and support backend services using Python and TypeScript
- Support server-side functionality within Next.js applications
- Develop and maintain REST APIs and third-party integrations
- Investigate failed integrations, API errors, timeouts, and data-sync problems
- Maintain and optimize services hosted on Google Cloud Platform
- Identify infrastructure bottlenecks and improve system scalability
- Monitor application health, logs, errors, performance, and service availability
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement long-term fixes
- Improve error handling, retries, logging, alerts, and system observability
- Support production deployments, environment configuration, and release troubleshooting
- Collaborate with frontend and product teams to resolve end-to-end technical issues
- Document incidents, technical decisions, integrations, and support procedures
- Communicate progress, risks, and blockers clearly to international stakeholders
Mandatory Requirements
- Professional backend-development or production-support experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Python
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript
- Experience supporting backend functionality in Next.js applications
- Working knowledge of React and frontend-to-backend communication
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Experience building, maintaining, or troubleshooting APIs
- Experience supporting third-party integrations and data flows
- Strong understanding of production infrastructure and application deployments
- Ability to diagnose performance, reliability, and scalability problems
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving ability
- Experience using Git and structured development workflows
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Professional English and clear written communication
- Ability to work eight hours per day, Monday to Friday, aligned with EST
Strongly Preferred
- Experience with GCP services such as Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, or Cloud Storage
- Docker and containerized deployments
- CI/CD pipeline experience
- Infrastructure-as-code experience
- Experience with monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting tools
- Database troubleshooting and query optimization
- Authentication and authorization experience
- Experience supporting high-traffic or rapidly growing applications
- Experience managing incidents in live production environments
- Direct experience working with international clients or engineering teams
