Role Description The Senior Director Manufacturing is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Canada, responsible for overseeing end-to-end manufacturing operations. This position manages production planning, supervises manufacturing teams, and ensures adherence to quality and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards across all processes. The role includes optimizing manufacturing workflows, coordinating with supply chain and procurement for timely availability of materials, and monitoring production metrics to meet output, cost, and safety targets. The Senior Director Manufacturing will develop and implement operational strategies, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with senior leadership to align manufacturing objectives with overall business goals. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve mentoring managerial staff, enforcing compliance with regulatory and safety norms, and preparing performance reports for executive review.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Production Planning and Manufacturing Operations to manage daily plant activities and ensure efficient output.
Candidates should possess expertise in Manufacturing Operations Management and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) to uphold quality, compliance, and standardized processes.
Candidates should possess solid capabilities in Supply Chain Management to coordinate materials, logistics, and vendor relationships supporting manufacturing needs.
Candidates should have demonstrated leadership experience in directing large manufacturing teams and managing multi-shift operations.
Candidates should have strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to use data and KPIs to drive performance improvements.
Candidates should have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Candidates should ideally hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience in implementing lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or similar operational excellence methodologies is highly beneficial.
