Role Description: The Data Engineering Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based abroad. This role involves leading a data engineering team to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that support business analytics and operational systems. The manager will oversee data integration from multiple sources, ensure data quality and security, and collaborate with product, operations, and leadership teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Responsibilities include guiding software development related to data platforms, managing project timelines and deliverables, and establishing best practices for data governance and documentation. The role also involves mentoring team members, optimising the performance of data systems, and continuously improving tools and processes to support the company’s immigration consulting services.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong engineering management and team leadership skills to guide and develop a high-performing data engineering team.
Candidates should possess software development and integration skills to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and related services.
Candidates should possess project management skills to plan, prioritise, and deliver data initiatives on schedule and within scope.
Relevant experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly beneficial.
Proficiency in SQL and one or more programming languages commonly used in data engineering (such as Python, Java, or Scala) is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to data quality, security, and compliance.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
