🚀 Lead Data Engineer | Canberra | Hybrid
We’re looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join a high-impact Australian Government data and analytics team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with modern cloud data platforms, data engineering, analytics and large-scale data transformation.
🔹 What you’ll be doing
Design, build and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines
Develop data ingestion and transformation solutions
Work with large and complex datasets
Prepare data for analytics, AI and reporting
Provide technical guidance and quality reviews to other data engineers
Collaborate with multidisciplinary Agile teams
🔹 Key skills
Strong Azure data engineering experience
Azure Data Factory
Azure Databricks / Spark
SQL Server / Azure SQL
Data Lake / Lakehouse
ETL/ELT and automated data ingestion
Parquet / Delta
Power BI
Azure DevOps
📍 Location
Canberra – Hybrid
Typically 3 days per week onsite.
🔐 Security
NV1 / Baseline clearance
⏳ Contract
12 months + extensions
We’re looking for someone with 5+ years of data engineering experience, strong technical ownership and the ability to work confidently in a collaborative Agile environment.
