Role Description The Senior Project Director is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing complex, cross-functional payment technology initiatives from inception through delivery. This position leads project planning, resource allocation, timelines, and stakeholder communication to ensure projects meet scope, quality, budget, and regulatory requirements. The Senior Project Director collaborates closely with product, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders to define project objectives, manage risks, and resolve issues proactively. Day-to-day responsibilities include facilitating project meetings, tracking milestones, preparing status reports, aligning teams on priorities, and driving continuous improvement in project management practices and delivery outcomes. This role also mentors project managers and contributes to strategic planning to support growth across the organization’s payment solutions portfolio.
Qualifications
Project and program management skills, including leading large, complex initiatives, defining scope, managing schedules and budgets, and coordinating cross-functional teams.
Experience with technology and software delivery, preferably in payments, FinTech, POS, or SaaS environments, including familiarity with payment gateways and integrated solutions.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and present to senior leadership and external partners.
Risk management and problem-solving capabilities, including identifying dependencies, managing change, and implementing mitigation plans.
Leadership and team development skills, such as mentoring project staff, fostering collaboration, and promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid approaches) and documentation practices.
Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PgMP, Agile certifications) is an asset.
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, demonstrating self-direction, time management, and strong organizational skills.
Experience working with diverse teams and global or distributed stakeholders is beneficial.
