ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a hands-on fresher to join our Security Operations function as an Associate SOC Analyst. You should be comfortable working daily with open-source detection and testing tools, not just familiar with the theory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor, detect, and triage security alerts across SIEM platforms
- Build, tune, and manage detection/correlation rules in Wazuh
- Ingest, pipeline, and correlate log data using the ELK Stack / Elastic Security
- Conduct Vulnerability Management: identify, prioritize, and track remediation
- Perform VAPT using Burp Suite (proxy, repeater, scanner) against real and practice targets
- Test web applications against the OWASP Top 10 using OWASP Juice Shop / DVWA
- Map detections and incidents to the MITRE ATT&CK framework and the Cyber Kill Chain
- Track and triage vulnerabilities using CVE/NVD feeds
- Support DLP, EDR, Firewall, and Network Security operations
- Apply cloud security fundamentals to monitoring and response
- Investigate incidents end to end: detect > triage > respond > report
- Write clear incident and audit reports (executive summary + findings format)
- Use Python for log parsing, automation, and lightweight tooling
REQUIRED TOOL KNOWLEDGE (HANDS-ON)
- Wazuh: setup, rule writing, alert correlation
- ELK Stack / Elastic Security: dashboards and log pipelines
- Burp Suite Community: manual and semi-automated web app testing
- MITRE ATT&CK: tactics, techniques, mapping exercises
- CVE / NVD: navigation and triage
- OWASP Top 10: practical use on Juice Shop / DVWA
- Python: scripting for log parsing and automation
- Fundamentals of SIEM, VAPT, DLP, EDR, Firewalls, Network Security, Cloud Security
- Networking and OS internals (Linux & Windows): TCP/IP, logs, firewalls, VPN
