AI Engineer

We're Hiring: AI Engineer | Full-Time | Remote
BangoPure Limited is looking for an experienced and innovative AI Engineer to join our growing international team.
We’re building an AI service that makes sustainability claims verifiable and measurable, covering material recognition, recycled-content verification, carbon-footprint estimation, and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
This is an end-to-end production AI role — not a position limited to training models in a notebook.
🔹 What You'll Do
You will take ownership of the complete AI lifecycle:
Data → Training → Evaluation → Model Selection → API → Deployment → Monitoring
Key responsibilities include:
• Build and deploy a computer-vision material recognition model covering ~200 material classes and 50,000+ images
• Benchmark ResNet-50, EfficientNet, ConvNeXt, ViT, and CLIP-style approaches
• Build AI-based verification for material, waste, and recycled-content claims
• Develop carbon-footprint estimation models, including XGBoost baselines
• Implement EPD / environmental calculation services aligned with ISO 14025, ISO 14040, ISO 14044 and EN 15804+A2
• Implement Monte Carlo uncertainty analysis with a target of under 5 seconds per product
• Build confidence and decision engines for automatic approval, human review, or rejection
• Deliver Explainable AI, including confidence scores, model/version information and Grad-CAM heatmaps
• Develop production REST APIs using FastAPI or equivalent
• Integrate AI services with our Java Spring Boot platform through Kafka
• Build scalable batch processing for up to 500 products per request and 12,000 products within 72 hours
• Dockerize, deploy, monitor and maintain AI services across GPU/CPU infrastructure
• Implement model and dataset versioning, monitoring, retraining and model hot-swapping
• Conduct comprehensive model evaluation, error analysis and per-class performance testing
• Maintain clear documentation covering datasets, training, APIs, deployment and maintenance
🔹 Must-Have Qualifications
✅ 3+ years of hands-on industry experience in AI / Machine Learning
✅ Strong Python skills
✅ Production experience with computer vision models
✅ Strong deep-learning knowledge with PyTorch or TensorFlow
✅ Experience with CNN / Transformer architectures
✅ Dataset creation, annotation and augmentation experience
✅ FastAPI or equivalent REST API development
✅ Docker and Linux
✅ Production ML deployment experience
✅ Ability to work independently in a fully remote international team
🔹 Strong Plus
⭐ ResNet-50 / EfficientNet / ConvNeXt / ViT
⭐ Grad-CAM or other Explainable AI techniques
⭐ XGBoost
⭐ MLflow or equivalent
⭐ Kafka
⭐ GPU deployment, ONNX / TensorRT and model optimization

⭐ LCA, Ecoinvent and environmental-impact calculations
⭐ ISO 14025 / 14040 / 14044 knowledge
⭐ Java / Spring Boot integration
⭐ Sustainability, traceability or Digital Product Passport (DPP) experience
