Role Description
This remote internship role for a User Experience Designer involves supporting the design and optimization of PortfolioFuture’s digital products and research tools. The intern will collaborate with product, research, and engineering partners to translate complex financial concepts into intuitive user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes. Daily responsibilities include conducting and synthesizing user research, refining information architecture, and contributing to visual and interaction design for web-based interfaces. The User Experience Designer will help document design decisions, gather feedback from stakeholders, and iterate on designs to improve usability and clarity. This internship offers hands-on experience shaping user experiences for data-rich, research-driven products in the financial intelligence space.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Design Thinking and User Experience (UX) to frame problems, define user journeys, and design user-centered solutions.
Candidates should possess skills in User Research to plan and conduct interviews or usability tests, analyze findings, and translate insights into design improvements.
Candidates should possess skills in Visual Design to create clear layouts, data visualizations, and interface elements that communicate complex information effectively.
Candidates should possess skills in Prototyping to build low- and high-fidelity prototypes, validate concepts with users, and iterate based on feedback.
Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar platforms, and comfort working with web-based products and dashboards.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate design rationale clearly to multidisciplinary partners.
Current enrollment in, or recent completion of, a program in UX design, HCI, design, or a related field is beneficial; prior experience in financial services or data-heavy products is a plus.
