ROLE CONTEXT
BMC
Shared Services provides centralised commercial and procurement support to
Vedanta Zinc International (VZI) operations, including Gamsberg and Black
Mountain Mine (BMM). These operations require reliable, timely and
technically accurate procurement of goods and services to support mining,
processing, engineering, maintenance and projects activities.
The
Buying
Officer (C4)
plays a enabling role by executing technical procurement activities in line
with approved contracts, supply agreements and governance standards. The role
ensures correct sourcing, ordering and expediting of technically complex
goods and services while supporting contract compliance, cost control and
operational continuity.
PURPOSE OF
THE ROLE
To execute and manage the
procurement of technical goods and services in accordance with approved
contracts, specifications and commercial governance requirements, ensuring
timely availability, cost effectiveness, quality compliance and uninterrupted
operational support.
The role ensures:
· Efficient execution of technical purchase
orders
· Compliance with approved contracts and
sourcing strategies
· Accurate technical specifications and vendor
alignment
· Timely delivery of critical materials and
services
