EHS Supervisor - AI Data Center
Relevant Experience: 5-7 years

Location: Bhubaneswar, Odisha
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced EHS Supervisor to provide field-level EHS supervision throughout construction, fit-out, testing, commissioning and transition to operations for the Odisha AI Data Center. Construction execution and readiness for safe handover are the first responsibilities. Following formal system acceptance, the role will support or assume steady-state operations responsibilities where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Safety Supervision
Provide full-time EHS coverage for assigned buildings, workfronts and shifts.
Conduct daily inspections of civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, controls, logistics and fit-out activities.
Stop unsafe work and ensure effective controls are implemented before restart.
Verify contractor supervision, housekeeping, access, welfare and emergency arrangements.
Monitor simultaneous operations and interfaces between contractors.
High-Risk Work Controls
Review permits and controls for work at height, lifting, hot work, excavation, confined space, pressure testing, electrical isolation and energized work.
Verify risk assessments, method statements, competency records, equipment certificates and toolbox talks before work begins.
Inspect scaffolds, ladders, lifting equipment, temporary power, edge protection and fall-arrest systems.
Monitor crane operations, heavy equipment movement and critical lifts.
Testing and Commissioning Safety
Coordinate safety controls for energization, switching, load-bank testing, flushing, pressure testing, chemical cleaning, equipment start-up and IST.
Ensure test boundaries, exclusion zones, communications, emergency response and rollback plans are established.
Verify contractor and OEM personnel understand commissioning hazards and permit requirements.
Support safe transition from construction control to operational control of systems and spaces.
Incident, Training and Compliance
Respond to incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions and preserve factual evidence.
Support investigation, root-cause analysis and corrective-action closure.
Conduct inductions, toolbox talks, campaigns and task-specific briefings.
Maintain inspection, permit, training, incident and corrective-action records.
Transfer open EHS risks, statutory records and emergency arrangements to Operations before handover.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant engineering, safety, security, logistics or technical discipline.
7-10 years of overall professional experience.
5-7 years of directly relevant experience in Construction Safety.
Demonstrated experience supporting construction execution, testing, commissioning, handover and transition to operations.
Mandatory Experience and Skills
Construction EHS supervision on large industrial or mission-critical projects.
Strong knowledge of work at height, lifting, excavation, hot work, confined space and electrical safety.
Ability to review risk assessments, method statements and permits.
Incident reporting and investigation capability.
Recognized EHS qualification or diploma.
Preferred Experience
NEBOSH, IOSH, ADIS or equivalent certification.
Data center, semiconductor, airport or large industrial project experience.
Commissioning and energized-work safety exposure.
Emergency-response and first-aid training.
Technical Competencies
Strong practical knowledge of EHS systems and associated construction interfaces.
Ability to read applicable drawings, schedules, procedures, test records and handover documentation.
Working knowledge of project controls, quality, safety, change and interface management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant technical or operational software.
Soft Skills and Behavioral Competencies
Strong ownership, accountability and professional integrity.
Clear written and verbal communication with contractors, OEMs, consultants and stakeholders.
Practical problem-solving and timely escalation of risks.
Disciplined documentation, follow-up and closure.
