Company Description
Inkers Technology is based in Bengaluru with offices in USA and UAE. We specialise in designing and developing deep large-scale AI and ML solutions for the Construction Industry. With a focus on AI, computer vision, and deep neural networks, we have extended our capabilities into the construction industry with our Digital PMC solution, “Kael” — a PMC that predicts delays, flags risks, automates reporting, and prevents cost overruns with real-time construction intelligence. Our hardware platform, “Observance”, uses LiDAR scanning, thermal imaging, and AI-powered analysis to deliver BIM Models, deviation detection, and as-built intelligence. We are committed to pushing the boundaries of technology across diverse sectors.
Role Description
We are looking for a Point Cloud Alignment Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru. This role sits at the heart of Inkers' BIM delivery pipeline — responsible for aligning raw point cloud data with Revit models, processing it into BIM-ready outputs, and ensuring every delivery meets quality standards before it reaches the client.
The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of experience working with point cloud data and BIM tools, with hands-on expertise in Revit point cloud alignment and in CloudCompare or Blender. Beyond technical execution, we are looking for someone with strong attention to detail, who takes ownership of output quality and communicates clearly with both technical teams and project stakeholders. This is an on-site role located in Bengaluru.
Key Responsibilities
Point Cloud Alignment & Registration
● Align point clouds with Revit models accurately, ensuring correct positioning, orientation, and scale against the project coordinate system and reference geometry.
● Use CloudCompare and/or Blender to clean, register, and correct point cloud data — handling noise, overlaps, and misalignments that require hands-on intervention.
● Verify alignment accuracy against control points and existing model elements, and refine until deviations fall within client-defined tolerances.
● Manage large-scale point cloud datasets efficiently, maintaining version control and clear file organisation across multiple concurrent projects.
● Flag issues in source scan data early — such as registration drift, gaps, or inconsistent coordinates — and coordinate with the capture team on resolution. BIM-Ready Data Processing
● Process point cloud data into BIM-ready outputs that integrate seamlessly into Revit-based workflows, supporting project timelines and stakeholder decisions.
● Prepare, format, and export point cloud deliverables in line with BIM requirements and project specifications.
● Work closely with the BIM team to ensure processed outputs meet modelling needs and support downstream deviation checks and as-built analysis.
Quality Control & Documentation
● Run structured QC checks at each stage of alignment and processing to ensure quality deliveries that meet client specifications.
● Prepare clear documentation including processing notes, QC reports, and handover notes for internal teams and client-facing deliverables.
● Maintain a log of issues, root causes, and resolutions to build institutional knowledge and continuously improve the workflow. Collaboration & Automation
● Collaborate with BIM, engineering, and project teams to understand deliverable requirements and meet delivery timelines.
● Where possible, use Python and Linux shell scripting to automate repetitive tasks such as file handling, batch processing, and format conversion.
● Provide timely status updates and surface blockers early to project managers and non-technical stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills :
● Revit Point Cloud Alignment: Hands-on experience aligning point clouds with Revit models is essential (must have).
● CloudCompare / Blender: Working proficiency in CloudCompare or Blender for point cloud processing, cleanup, and correction is essential (must have).
● BIM Workflows: Solid understanding of BIM workflows and how point cloud data feeds into modelling and verification.
● Point Cloud Data: Familiarity with point cloud formats, coordinate systems, registration concepts, and handling large datasets.
● QC & Documentation: Ability to run structured quality checks, maintain QC logs, and produce clear reports.
● Python & Linux: Working knowledge of Python scripting and Linux is an added advantage.
Behavioural Skills :
● High attention to detail — comfortable working with precise, complex datasets where small alignment errors can compound quickly.
● Self-directed problem solver who can diagnose alignment and data issues independently and implement fixes without step-by-step guidance.
● Clear communicator — able to translate technical findings into concise updates for project managers and non-technical stakeholders.
● Organised and reliable — manages multiple concurrent projects, tracks progress, and meets delivery
deadlines.
Educational Background
● Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Computer Science, Geospatial Engineering, or a related discipline.
● Candidates with strong demonstrable experience in Revit point cloud alignment and BIM workflows will be considered even without a directly matching degree.
