About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership across multiple data centre and mission-critical infrastructure projects throughout Europe.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior mechanical design engineer with 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, design development, technical specifications, and multidisciplinary engineering delivery.
The successful candidate will lead mechanical design activities, review engineering deliverables, manage technical interfaces, engage with clients and contractors, and provide engineering direction to teams across Europe and India.
Candidates from data centres, heavy industrial facilities, oil and gas, refineries, petrochemical plants, chemical processing, and other complex engineering environments are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical engineering design across multiple projects.
Develop and review mechanical designs, technical specifications, engineering standards, and design documentation.
Act as the principal mechanical engineering contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
Provide technical leadership, engineering guidance, and mentoring to multidisciplinary teams.
Review design deliverables for technical compliance, quality, performance, and client requirements.
Coordinate mechanical interfaces with electrical, civil, automation, commissioning, and operations teams.
Lead design reviews, technical workshops, value engineering, and engineering optimisation.
Support construction teams with technical queries, design clarifications, and issue resolution.
Challenge design solutions and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, maintainability, and operational performance.
Incorporate operational feedback and lessons learned into future engineering designs.
Required Experience & Technical Skills
15+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
Strong background in mechanical design engineering and technical leadership.
Experience leading complex engineering projects and multidisciplinary design activities.
Proven capability in technical specification writing and engineering documentation.
Strong understanding of integrated mechanical systems and plant design.
Experience managing technical discussions with clients, consultants, contractors, and senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated design review, problem-solving, and engineering decision-making capabilities.
Experience mentoring engineers and coordinating distributed engineering teams.
