Accounting Manager

About The Role
The role owns the monthly close, general ledger integrity, and financial reporting for a fast-moving technology company — ensuring numbers are accurate, audit-ready, and compliant with US GAAP and SOX controls.
The Accounting Manager is the connective tissue between finance, engineering-driven revenue models, and external auditors. This role matters because clean books and defensible controls are the foundation every strategic decision is built on.
Key Responsibilities
Own the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring completion within a 5-business-day target
Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and flux analysis for key balance sheet and P&L accounts
Maintain and document SOX internal controls, coordinate control testing, and remediate deficiencies with process owners
Lead external audit preparation and serve as primary point of contact for auditors on financial reporting matters
Research technical accounting issues under US GAAP (ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 842 leases, capitalization policies) and document positions in technical memos
Drive process improvement across close and reporting workflows, including automation in NetSuite and Adaptive Planning (or similar ERP/FP&A tools)
Manage and mentor a team of 2-3 staff accountants, setting priorities and developing technical depth
What We Are Looking For
5-8 years of combined public accounting and industry experience, with a minimum of 2 years managing the close process
Active CPA license; Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
Deep working knowledge of US GAAP and SOX 404 internal controls over financial reporting
Hands-on experience with NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle ERP and advanced Excel/Google Sheets modeling
Experience interacting with external auditors and preparing audit-ready deliverables
Strong ownership mentality — able to run the close independently and communicate status and risks clearly to leadership
Bonus: Big 4 background, SEC reporting experience, experience with SaaS revenue models, or exposure to Adaptive Planning/Pigment for budgeting
