What we're looking for
We're partnering with a direct response marketing agency that also runs its own in-house brands, combining agency services with brand ownership. They're looking for a Video Editor who knows why some ads print money while others die in 48 hours. This is not a branding or "pretty video" role. You'll build every edit around the hook, the first 3 seconds, the retention curve and the CTA, working in a brand POD alongside Creative Strategists and top media buyers who share the data on what worked and what didn't.
What You'll Be Doing
Deliver direct response video ads every week (UGC, VSLs, ad remixes and performance creative) for several 8- and 9-figure DTC brands on Meta, TikTok and YouTube.
Turn briefs and raw UGC into scroll-stopping ads with strong hooks, tight pacing, captions, b-roll, proof and a clear offer.
Model high-performing competitor ads, replicating what works while adapting it to the brand, offer and messaging.
Build hook and format variations of winning ads, reading metrics (hook rate, hold rate, CTR, CPA) with the team to iterate on what's working and cut what isn't.
Create AI-generated assets (animations, avatars, songs) using the team's in-house AI tool when the concept calls for it.
Organize inbound creator content and bring new formats, trends and angles to creative brainstorms.
Requirements
A portfolio of direct response or e-commerce ads you've edited, ideally with results you can talk about.
2+ years with Premiere Pro, CapCut, After Effects or similar, plus 1+ year creating ecommerce ads.
Hands-on experience editing Meta and TikTok ads in direct response formats, including UGC and VSLs.
Fluency with AI generation tools for video, avatars, voice or music, and AI-assisted workflows.
A deep understanding of TikTok and Reels (you live on them and notice what makes people stop scrolling).
Speed without sacrificing quality, the ability to apply feedback the same day, and strong written and spoken English.
Nice to Have
Motion graphics experience.
Graphic design skills.
