Role Description The Vice President of Global Project Operations is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing end-to-end project execution across Book Pattern’s global portfolio. This role leads the planning, coordination, and delivery of book design, formatting, and conversion projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Day-to-day responsibilities include directing project operations teams, optimizing workflows, and implementing best practices for resource allocation and risk management. The role collaborates closely with design, production, and client-facing teams to align project goals with business objectives and client expectations. The Vice President also monitors operational performance, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and contributes to strategic decision-making for scalable growth.
Qualifications
Strong Operations Management and Operational Excellence skills, with experience designing and improving processes in a project-based environment.
Proven Project Management and Strategic Planning capabilities, including leading multi-phase, global initiatives and aligning operations with business strategy.
Knowledge of Supply Chain Management principles, particularly in managing vendors, external partners, and distributed production workflows.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional teams, with the ability to mentor, delegate, and build high-performance cultures in remote settings.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to translate complex operational issues into clear action plans.
Experience in publishing, design services, or digital production environments is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Management, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean, Six Sigma) are a plus.
Comfort with data-driven decision-making, using metrics and analytics to evaluate performance and support continuous improvement.
