Remote Junior Cybersecurity Engineer ($95k–$120k USD/year)

We’re hiring a Remote Junior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our growing technology and security team.
As a Junior Cybersecurity Engineer, you’ll help protect our systems, applications, and data from security threats while gaining hands-on experience across security monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and security operations.
This role is ideal for someone early in their cybersecurity career who has a strong technical foundation, a passion for information security, and a desire to grow into a more advanced security engineering role. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and IT teams to identify potential threats, strengthen our security controls, and help keep our environment secure.
This position is fully remote and open to candidates based in the New York City area.
Compensation: $95,000–$120,000 USD annually, depending on experience, technical skills, certifications, and overall qualifications.
What You’ll Do:
Monitor security alerts, logs, and systems for potential threats or suspicious activity
Assist with investigating and responding to security incidents
Perform vulnerability scans and help track and remediate security findings
Support endpoint, network, cloud, and application security initiatives
Assist with security assessments, access reviews, and configuration audits
Help maintain and improve security tools, policies, and procedures
Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to identify and address security risks
Document security incidents, findings, and remediation activities
Stay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices
Participate in projects designed to strengthen our overall security posture
Who You Are:
Strong interest in cybersecurity and information securit
yUnderstanding of core security concepts such as networking, authentication, encryption, vulnerabilities, and access control
sComfortable working with logs, command-line tools, and basic troubleshootin
gFamiliarity with Linux and/or Windows environment
sSome experience with security tools, cloud platforms, SIEMs, vulnerability scanners, or endpoint security solution
sStrong analytical and problem-solving skill
sCurious, detail-oriented, and eager to investigate how and why things wor
kComfortable learning new technologies and working collaboratively with engineering team
sAble to communicate technical security issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audience
sBachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related field is a plus, but not require
dCybersecurity certifications, bootcamp experience, lab experience, CTF participation, or relevant self-directed projects are highly value
