At Whatifi, we've built a new way for businesses to explore complex financial and operational "what if" questions.
Instead of building complicated spreadsheets, users can describe their business, ask questions, and have AI construct interactive models to explore multiple possible outcomes.
We're making some exciting progress, but we need someone to help us push the technology further.
We're looking for a curious, analytical thinker to help us challenge, test, and improve our AI-powered scenario modelling platform.
What you'll be doing:
Building and testing financial and operational scenarios using conversational AI.
Exploring everything from revenue forecasts and cash flow to staffing, resource allocation, capacity planning, and operational constraints.
Challenging the AI with increasingly complex business questions, dependencies, and decisions.
Identifying incorrect assumptions, modelling errors, missing functionality, and unexpected behaviour.
Experimenting with different approaches to discover where the technology succeeds and where it breaks down.
Helping us build a growing library of validated business scenarios to benchmark and continuously improve the platform.
Who we're looking for:
Someone early in their career with a background in finance, business analytics, operations, economics, engineering, or a related field.
We're particularly interested in people with strong systems thinking — the ability to understand how different parts of a business interact, how decisions create downstream consequences, and how changing one variable can affect an entire operation.
Ideally, you have:
Strong analytical skills and a natural curiosity about how businesses work.
An ability to think through interconnected processes, dependencies, and cause-and-effect relationships.
Familiarity with financial modelling, forecasting, operational planning, or capacity modelling.
An interest in AI and emerging technologies.
The curiosity and persistence to experiment, challenge assumptions, and figure out why something isn't working.
You don't need to be a programmer, but you should be technically comfortable, enjoy experimenting with new tools, and be willing to challenge the technology.
And this isn't an Excel modelling job.
You'll be applying the same underlying business and financial logic traditionally found in spreadsheets, but through a conversational AI interface and visual scenario-modelling environment.
