## About the Role
We are seeking a curious and analytical **Junior Cyber Threat Hunting Analyst** to support the proactive identification of suspicious activity across enterprise systems, networks, and cloud environments.
Unlike traditional alert monitoring, threat hunting involves investigating patterns and asking questions that may reveal threats not immediately detected by automated tools. In this role, you will work with experienced security professionals to review security data, investigate unusual behavior, document findings, and improve threat detection capabilities.
This position is suitable for an early-career cybersecurity professional with a strong interest in investigation, log analysis, and defensive security. Training and mentorship will be provided.
## Key Responsibilities
* Assist with proactive investigations into potentially suspicious system and network activity.
* Review security logs and telemetry to identify unusual patterns.
* Support hypothesis-driven threat-hunting exercises under senior analyst supervision.
* Help investigate suspicious authentication events, endpoint behavior, and network connections.
* Research attacker techniques and map relevant findings to the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
* Assist with developing and refining basic detection queries.
* Document investigation steps, findings, and recommended follow-up actions.
* Collaborate with SOC and incident response teams to investigate potential threats.
* Help identify gaps in existing security monitoring and detection coverage.
* Maintain accurate records of threat-hunting activities and lessons learned.
* Follow approved procedures when handling security data and escalating incidents.
## Requirements
* Diploma or bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent practical knowledge may be considered.
* Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
* Familiarity with common cyber threats, including malware, phishing, and compromised accounts.
* Basic knowledge of security logs and event analysis.
* Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
* Good written communication and documentation abilities.
* Ability to work collaboratively and follow established investigation procedures.
* Willingness to learn threat-hunting methods and security analytics tools.
**Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.** Relevant academic projects, internships, home labs, and beginner cybersecurity certifications are advantageous.
## Preferred Skills
* Introductory experience with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel or Splunk.
* Basic familiarity with KQL, SPL, SQL, or another query language.

* Basic scripting knowledge in Python or PowerShell.
* Familiarity with Windows event logs or endpoint detection concepts.
* Understanding of indicators of compromise and common attacker behaviors.
* Relevant introductory cybersecurity training or certifications.
