About The Role
Jobrapido is seeking a Software Developer with strong back-end development experience to join its Product Development team in a full-time, direct-hire position. This is a remote role, available to candidates who reside in Indiana, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, North Carolina, Ohio, or Virginia. Your regular workday must include core hours from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Occasional travel to the company’s Indianapolis, Indiana, headquarters may be required.
You will primarily develop in Java and C#, working with SQL Server and Windows Server systems. The role focuses on building and maintaining data-scraping programs and management software, assessing websites and data feeds, and collaborating with colleagues to understand member needs. This opportunity is well suited to an engineer who enjoys solving practical data challenges and improving the speed, reliability, and efficient use of resources in complex systems.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include at least three years of software development experience, professional experience with Java, and knowledge of SQL Server. Applicants should be comfortable contributing to back-end applications and working collaboratively with colleagues to clarify requirements and deliver useful technical solutions.
Experience with complex software systems, high-volume data, or high-traffic databases is preferred. Familiarity with performance optimization and efficient resource usage is also valuable. Additional preferred technologies and tools include C#, XML, JSON, XSL, REST APIs, HTML, JavaScript, and AWS. Experience with scraping frameworks, website structures, or data feeds can help you become effective in the role, though candidates are encouraged to describe transferable experience relevant to the work.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Java programs within the company’s scraping framework to collect job content from websites and data feeds. Assess website structures and available sources to determine appropriate scraping approaches, and implement solutions that support reliable, consistent data collection. Maintain and enhance existing scraping programs and management software, addressing issues and making improvements as systems and requirements evolve.
Work with SQL Server and Windows Server systems to support application and data needs. Contribute to the handling of large volumes of information, with attention to performance, efficient resource consumption, and dependable operation. Collaborate with staff to understand member requirements, ask clarifying questions, and translate needs into practical development work. Communicate progress, technical considerations, and potential improvements to relevant colleagues, and help maintain readable, supportable code as products and data sources change.
